Dennis Rudolph was born and lives in Berlin. He studied at the Berlin University of the Arts, the Repin Academy in Saint Petersburg, and the Institute of Language and Culture in Beijing.
In his artistic practice, Rudolph works across video, painting, and graphic art, reinterpreting the legacy of Western culture by creating abstract works that draw on classical historical images and narratives. In his most recent works, he experiments with virtual reality as an artistic space, using VR editors to create three-dimensional digital paintings and environments.
Dennis Rudolph has taken part in a number of international institutional projects, including the Museum of Work in Hamburg, the KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin, the Moscow International Biennale for Young Art, the Centre d'Art Contemporain in Brétigny, France, the Bavarian State Opera, Kunstverein Arnsberg, and Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin. Since 2014, the artist has directed State of the Art, an exhibition space, residency, and studio in Berlin.
