Ileana Moro is a multidisciplinary artist of Cuban-Nicaraguan origin. Born in Costa Rica, she currently lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium. Her practice explores emotional and psychological landscapes through painting, perceiving the canvas as a form of visual diary and a reflection of the inner life.

The absence of human figures in Ileana's works does not mean the absence of humanity. On the contrary, she depicts the emotional weather of human existence-the storms, calms, and twilight moods that each of us experiences. Her canvases can be read as portals into the inner climate of the soul.

The artist's preferred medium is the oil on linen. Working intuitively, Moro avoids conveying the human condition in a figurative way; the spiritual flow is followed throughout her work. Through the shadow and light interplay, she recreates liminal spaces-entrances for the sacral entities.

Guided by intuition, Ileana Moro's creative process is open to spontaneity, fluidity, and the expression of subconscious material. This is how she brings to life works, which hover on the edge between control and dedication. Prioritizing enigma over straightforward interpretations, her paintings remain unfinished, emotionally charged, and resonant with the hidden dimensions of life.

The artist's personal exhibitions have been held at KAR Studio (China, 2023), Lera Treyger (Belgium, 2024), Himera (Romania, 2025), and other galleries. Ileana Moro has participated in the group projects of Belgian galleries Grege and Ballroom (2023), Ave, Francis Maere, and 22Muse (2024), and Verduyn (2025). Her works have been exhibited within the Antwerp Art Weekend 2025.
