Vesper is a kinetic light sculpture inspired by the delicate balance and poetic motion of Alexander Calder’s mobiles. Suspended in space, a series of abstract forms gently rotates around a central axis, evoking the quiet rhythm of celestial bodies and the harmony of cosmic systems. The equilibrium of its elements — both physical and luminous — creates a sense of stillness within motion, of presence within transience.
Vesper utilizes two distinct lighting technologies: a COB LED fixture that casts a soft, diffused glow, and a COB spotlight that provides a more directional illumination. Together, they create a multi-layered lighting effect; as the mobile moves, light and shadow alternate in a quiet cadence, transforming the surrounding space.
The name Vesper references the evening star, embodying the threshold between light and darkness. Within this twilight of silent movement and luminous tension, Vesper invites viewers into a meditative experience of balance and impermanence.
